About Dr. Danielle

Founder & Clinical Director

Dr. Danielle Spearman-Camblard (also known as "Dr. Danielle" or "Dr. D") is a licensed clinical psychologist in the states of Connecticut and Virginia. She is a media contributor in the popular press, consultant to organizations & churches, and international public speaker. As a PSYPACT psychologist, she also provides telepsychology in 40 states. Dr. Danielle provides therapy for adults only, ages 25-55. Therapy is offered for clients in the U.S. and not internationally. She is currently offering the following summer appointments morning through evening:

  • Mondays through Thursdays, 10 am - 5:30 pm

  • Fridays, 9 am - 3 pm

During the academic year, she offers morning and afternoon appointments:

  • Mondays through Thursdays, 9 am - 4 pm

  • Fridays, 9 am - 3 pm

Dr. Spearman received her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut and graduated Cum Laude as an Honors Scholar. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) as a Diversity Fellow at the University of Hartford’s Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology (GIPP). While receiving clinical training working with adult clients, she also pursued a concentration in childhood and adolescence. She subsequently completed her internship and post-doctoral fellowship at The Village for Families and Children, Inc., an APA-approved site, in Hartford, CT.

Dr. Spearman has almost 20 years of expertise in the mental health industry.  She provides therapy services to adult clients with a wide range of mental health disorders, in addition to psychological assessments and consultation services. She obtained clinical psychology experience and training through Yale University School of Medicine. Her style can be described as holistic compassionate care with a strengths-based approach. She supports clients in their journey to self-empowerment by highlighting their areas of resiliency through a caring and liberating therapeutic alliance. Her expertise and specialized interests include, but are not limited to, perinatal mental health, therapy for executives, racial equity initiatives, race-related stress/racial trauma, trauma-informed care, and Christian counseling utilizing faith-based coping strategies to enhance resilience. She is a leading mental health expert and shares her knowledge in media interviews, which can be viewed on the homepage. She has extensive specialized training in evidenced-based models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Strengths-Based Therapy (SBT).  She accepts insurance and private pay. ​​Community Initiatives
Dr. Spearman is passionate about dismantling racial disparities in mental health. She practices from a community-oriented and racial trauma lens by understanding the impact of racial justice issues on Black, Indigenous, & People of Color (BIPOC) communities. She received expert training on therapy for racial trauma. She also served on the Connecticut Psychological Association’s Ethnic Diversity Task Force (EDTF) to advocate for culturally competent mental health services for communities of color and provide mentorship for college and graduate students of color in psychology.

FUN FACT:  Dr. Danielle has always been passionate about breaking racial barriers even during her college years.  She was featured in the April 2001 issue of Ebony Magazine for making history as the first African American woman to win the Ms. University of Connecticut Homecoming Queen title in 2000.  She enjoys spending free time with her husband and four children.  She is also an herbalist and has certificates in holistic herbalism for women and children.
